Each of the center's 3 training programs has an affiliated fellowship program.
The
Biosafety Training Fellowship Program
and
Career Development Fellowship
Programs each accept 2 fellows per year for no more than 2 years of funding.
The Clinical/Translational Fellowship program provides research funding at any MRCE
partner institution. The Biosafety Training Fellowship Program is currently supervised
by Dr. Joe Kanabrocki at Washington University in St. Louis.
The
Veterinary Medicine Training Program
at the
University of Missouri-Columbia,
Iowa State University and
Kansas State University
accepts 2-3 fellows per year to receive fellowship funding for a variable term.
Applications to all 3 programs are reviewed by the center's Executive Committee,and fellows are required to
submit yearly reports of their progress each fall, to be compiled as part of the center's annual
report submission to NIAID. To date, the center has trained a total of 12 fellows who have successfully
completed their fellowships and pursued careers related to biosafety or infectious diseases.
